Service and Outreach

“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.”   Proverbs 11:25
The Fairview United Methodist Church is committed to serving the local community and world.  Our Mission and Outreach Team looks for people and places needing support in many ways.  To that end we seek to be involved in caring for school children around the block and around the globe; those who are hungry, homeless or in need of spiritual guidance; victims of natural disasters and domestic violence; and whatever ways we hear God calling us.  We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a hurting world.
Here are a number of projects we support:
FOOD PANTRY April of 2013, our church started a “food pantry” for some families in our community. The continued success of this program is totally dependant on us.  We will continue to need food items every week, even during the summer months. Please help us help others with your contributions!
“Hear a Story-Take a Story,” a children’s story and craft time. For 6 weeks this summer we read stories, taught crafts and gave a snack to those children in the neighborhood. Each week they took a book home.
Rescue Mission Dinners – once a month we serve dinner at Whitney Place -sign up to help in the narthex.  For questions, call Blenda 217-5242, or Sue 724-5084.
Annual Chow Walk
Christmas in August [school supplies for neighborhood children]
Blanket the World in Love [Blanket Sunday]
School kits, Health kits, and Birthing kits for Haiti.

In addition to these projects we also raise money to donate to UMCOR, the humanitarian relief agency of The United Methodist Church

We would love to have you join us as we serve others!
